About me
Amy is a second-year doctoral student at the University of Arkansas, where she is recognized as a Leadership for Transition scholar. Amy was awarded a BSE in Special Education, an MSE in Curriculum & Instruction, and an Ed.S in Education Leadership from Arkansas State University. Before beginning her doctoral studies, Amy taught special education in the Arkansas Delta for 21 years. As a teacher, she taught in various settings and various subject areas, but her favorite was transition. She designed and implemented a Pre-ETS program in her school that included a school-based coffee shop where special-needs students received work training. She and her husband, Chris have two children; Zachary is 20, and Katy is 12. She enjoys reading, spending time with her family, and traveling in her spare time.
