This session will review the various options families of students in Arkansas have in finding the best educational options for that student. Specifically, the presentation will address the obligations and opportunities various School Choice options present to the local public school.
This session will offer a review of the law governing Arkansas Public Schools release of information as well as the law governing the meeting of a public governing body such as a school board. These subjects are primally governed by the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
This session will review the federal law which ensure fair treatment between men and women in an educational environment. Key topics will include the requirements Title IX places on public school districts and the process a school district must engage in when a Title IX Compliant is filed.
